Hiding vs Close an OnScreenDisplay window
#1
is there a difference in 'hiding' and 'closing' an OSD window?

No. I use term 'hide' because not everybody knows that the text is in a window. I think 'hide text' is better than 'close text'. But not sure, maybe in English I also can close text.

no, text works fine in English. i always thought of the OSD as a window proper and so 'hiding' a window still leaves it's memory footprint occupied thus you have a finite number of OSD 'hidden' windows but if they are 'closing' then the memory used to create and manage it is released thus you have an infinite number of OSD windows that can be made since you only have one at a time vs. only one 'showing' at a time but it is still using memory resources due to being hidden rather than closed.

does that make sense?

Actually it was difficult to me to choose the name for OsdHide. I predicted questions like yours. I'll add a note in OsdHide help that it closes the window.
