Enter credential when QM launched for synology NAS
#1
Hi Gintaras, hi all,

as many, I own a NAS and must manually enter credential to access it via explorer (to open it for browsing)

it's refered in my system as \\Synology, and wonder if someone knows to make it available directly from QM
bypassing explorer's method (fill login/pasword in dialog)?

Thanks

I have credential added for my NAS in the credential manager
WINDOWS 7: Control Panel >> User Accounts and Family Safety >> Credential Manager

I do not know if you already have and if it will work fully (you might still get the "Open file" warning).
But at least it stopped asking me for credentials when accessing my NAS.
(I don't remember if it was required or not to start the IP address of the nas with "\\" when adding the NAS in the credential manager).

Thanks a bunch Ron, trying this right away..

setup, reboot, worked, TY Ron....

QM way would be nice though if possible (to make my son access the NAS without knowing credential on his laptop via
an encrypted macro!!)

Good to know it helped!
