why does qm get installed by default into programs(x86)?
is it because qm is a 32bit program?
i have never programmed qm macros for 64bit.
$program files$ leads to programs(x86).
i find those both program folders confusing.
can you enlighten me?
thanks

Some info is in Help -> Vista.
No changes in macros needed, unless you used C:\program files or C:\windows\system32. These folders now are for 64-bit programs. For 32-bit programs use $program files$ (or its alias $pf$) and $system$.

Thanks
the qm part is simple to understand.
So Microsoft developers thought that there are two folders for programs necessary.
32 and 64 bit.
For what is that good for?

Many dlls and programs have 2 versions - 32-bit and 64-bit, with same name but in different folders. For example 32 bit programs use 32 bit dlls and cannot load 64 bit dlls.

i wonder what a 64bit qm version could do more.
is it good for more hooks?

Maybe only would run several % faster. Everything that can do 64 bit programs also can do 32 bit programs.

Is or will there ever be a 64bit version of QM?
I have a laptop from work that has Vista 64bit version and i like it!
Would probably be nice to get a few % increase in speed.

You said 64 bit dll's wont work on 32 bit computers correct?
If this doesnt work then a program designated for Vista wouldnt work on XP? Or am i misunderstanding this lol
Also, can both 64 bit and 32 bit dll's be connected to a program to be used on BOTH, XP and Vista?

QM will not be 64-bit.
64-bit programs don't work on 32-bit Windows. But usually programs have 32 and 64 bit versions.
