qmcl.exe not compatible with this version of Windows

I'm trying to run qmcl.exe from a CMD window on a Windows Server 2012 machine, but get the message that this version of qmcl.exe is not compatible with the Windows version running on this computer. I tried running in compatibiity mode, but get the same message.

I searched this forum but couldn't find an answer. I'm running QM 2.4.3.4. Any suggestions?

What happens when you double click qmcl.exe in Windows Explorer?

Then I get a banner saying "This app can't run on your PC. To find a version for your PC check with the software publisher."

I'm running Win Server 2012 Std 64bit on a x64 machine.

qm.exe can run, but qmcl.exe can't? Maybe qmcl.exe is modified/corrupt. Try to reinstall QM.

I did and now it works! Windows must have changed it... Strange.
