Administrator on XP
#1
I've been kind of out of the loop since packing up and moving up north. It turns out that less need translates into less development time for me. So I haven't been staying on the development edge like I have been. Anyway...

I've started a new job in a very strictive environment. I am using XP SP3. I know that some things require QM to run as admisistrator but as long as you're not using those functions (i.e. unlocking the workstation and running a task), is it required to have QM run as administrator on XP?

No.
Some rarely used functions will not work.
Triggers and automation functions will not work in admin windows.
More complete list: look in Help -> "Windows Vista, Windows 64-bit" -> "What does not work on Vista when QM is running as User or uiAccess" and "What does not work on Vista when QM is running as User" (on XP some of these probably will work).
